About
Established by Bill Powers in 2008, Half Gallery focuses on discovering and championing young emerging artists. Originally on the Lower East Side, the gallery moved to an Upper East Side townhouse once inhabited by architect Stanford White in 2013, and relocated to the East Village in 2020 near the Brant Foundation. Powers, who got his start writing for culture magazines and The New York Times, contributes regularly to ARTnews and has discovered artists like Genieve Figgis, Vaughn Spann, and Daniel Heidkamp who have been poached by mega-galleries.
