About
Founded in 1968 as the first art gallery in SoHo, opening with an exhibition to benefit the Student Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam that included works by Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, and Sol LeWitt's first wall drawing, Paula Cooper Gallery relocated to Chelsea in 1996, where for over fifty years its program has focused on conceptual and minimal art while hosting concerts, performances, and community events.
